Travel Guide
Guys, I am sooooooo excited that we are leaving on our New England Road Trip in a few days!!! I cannot wait!
I absolutely love road trips! I guess I'm never the one driving though lol so Kyle tends to not like them so much.
I didn't travel or do road trips when I was growing up, our family just didn't have the extra money and that's alright. I started to travel a lot when I became an adult even going to California and Vancouver by myself, mind you I had friends there but I stayed in hotels and flew solo and it was such an amazing experience, I am so glad I did that.
One of my biggest life goals is to go on a huge trip once a year (usually California or Florida) and a mini road trip once a year (New England or Montreal/Toronto). This year we really didn't have the money to do a huge trip, we went to California last May and it was pricey. I didn't realize how expensive traveling is with children! Carter was 3 years old but it still cost us $900 for him to fly to LA! So this year for my birthday, I was able to convince Kyle to do a 4 day road trip to New Hampshire, Maine and Boston! Hopefully we'll be able to do Florida next October.
My top picks from my Road Trip essentials, #1 would definitely be a camera! You can't have a road trip without pictures of all of the wonderful memories. I loooove scrapbooking and taking photos so a Polaroid camera is perfect! I also have a thing for writing things in planners and notebooks so I'll definitely be bringing that along for any ideas that might pop into my mind!
You definitely can't have a road trip without snacks. If you know me at all, you know how addicted I am to food and treats. I'm going to try really hard to bring healthy snacks and stay away from the bad stuff, we'll see how that goes!
I'm obsessed with scents, wether it's our home or car, I always have some nice smelling air fresheners or candles. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be stuck in a stinky car for 11 hours lol! Scentsy hands down has my favourite products, especially the car bars and scent circles. And no, I don't sell it! I just genuinely love their products!
You also need to make sure you're nice and comfortable so make sure you have loose fitting clothes, layer up in case you get too warm or cold, and a pillow of some sort is a must!
I also like to have some beauty wipes, facial spray and deep hydrating lotion for my skin.
This will be our first road trip with a baby and a 4 year, I'm not sure how easy it's going to be. Wish us luck! I'm going to make up an "activity bag" for Carter. I'll do a post down the road on what to bring for babies/kids!
What types of things do you guys like to bring on road trips?! Let me know in the comments below and thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate everyone that reads my blog :)!
