Car Seat Canopy

If you're a mom and you haven't heard of car seat canopy you are really missing out!!!

When I was pregnant with Carter, I ordered a car seat canopy in chevron gray and it was seriously a lifer saver! It saved him so many times from bright sunlight, rain or snow, and bright store lights from waking him up. Not only was it useful but it was really pretty! I got tons of compliments wherever we went! People would constantly stop and ask where I got it from.

When I was pregnant with Kennedy I decided I wanted another one. I didn't really need a new one lol but of course I wanted a pink a one!

This little caboodle set is the prettiest thing ever and she looks so cozy and happy in it! This is definitely a must-have for your little one! Trust me, you'll thank me for it! The arm cushion has seriously saved my arm from carrying her around, it's so heavy- and she's only 3 months old!

The little head cushions make me feel so much safer driving her around safely and protected!

She’s finally here!!! Well, I guess I’m a bit late as baby Kennedy is now 4 weeks old. We have been so busy this last month, I’m just finally getting around to doing a blog post!

My Top 10 Favourite Christmas Movies!

I have had a cold for the last 2 weeks that just won't go away! One day it's fine and feels like it's gone, and the next it's back with a vengeance!

Sometimes you just need to lay around, relax with a cup of tea and watch some of your favourite Christmas movies.

Sweater Weather!

I'm not really a fan of the colder weather, actually I hate it! I love the look of the fall and winter and all of the holidays but without of the cold!

Well it's safe to say it's winter! Today is -11! It's freezing! I currently have no plans on going outside but thought I'd post my look from the other day when it was a bit warmer outside.

Flower Power!

There is nothing prettier than when all the flowers are in full bloom. We have a huge rhododendron bush in the front of our house that I have been cutting and trimming for the last year. It's such a beautiful plant but it is HUGE! I'm debating on cutting the whole thing and just landscaping with some little hostas and mulch but the flowers are just so pretty, I'm afraid I might miss them!

Carter is 8 months old today! I can't believe in just 4 months I have to go back to work :(. I'm absolutely heartbroken! I wish I could stay home with him everyday! It's just insane how much has changed since last month! He is now just crawling (I guess more like dragging himself lol) all over the place! He somewhat feeds himself with his spoon and eats little Baby Mum Mum cookies. And does he ever love Bentley! Lol he must think she's a fluffy little lion. He just goes crazy for her! He likes the Precious our Chihuahua too but he just adores our little crazy Pom.

I went and picked up some more beautiful peonies the florist ordered in for me :). They're are seriously the most beautiful flower! And I love the smell! Kyle thinks they smell kind of minty. I'm not sure what they smell like lol, just fresh I guess! I think I'm going to get some bulbs and try to plant some.... not that I will have any luck with it anyway. My 3 rhodos I tried to plant in the back yard bloomed for a couple days and now they look completely dead....I don't know what I did wrong!

My outfit for the day was perfect for today's whole "floral theme"! It was so bright and fun, and super girly!

May Faves...and not so much

I can't believe May is over already! It feels like this year is going by soooo fast! June is one of my favorite months, it's the beginning of summer! I just can't wait to lay in the pool, take Carter to the beach and to our cottage! Summer is always the best time of the year!

Well, here is my list of my faves and not so much for May!

MAC Cool/Neutral Eye shadow Palette: Omg, the colors in this palette are perfection! They are the perfect everyday colors and there's some really gorgeous dark ones for the perfect smokey-eye look.

Batiste "Tropical" Dry shampoo: This stuff is amaaaazing! I love the smell of it so much. It smells like coconut and just reminds me of the beach. It goes on pretty white so you really have to brush/blend it all in but it's great at covering blonde roots and it gives really great volume!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Hair Mist: This is one of my new favorite scents. It smells so incredible and it's so perfect for the spring/summer! I really love this hair mist, it's great for when I curl my hair, it's just so bouncy and smells amazing.

Drop Dead Diva: I actually really like this show, lol it is kind of corny but I like it! I was out of a new series to watch and this was in my Netflix recommendations. Good job Netflix! Unfortunately I went through it so fast and now I'm one the final season :(

And not so much...

Batiste "Original" Dry shampoo: I really love the tropical and the pink one ( I think it's extra volume?) but I really did not like original. I didn't really find it smelled great or do as much as the others. It's not horrible, just the other kinds are so much better!

Amber teething necklace: I did quite a bit of research on this before buying it and I asked about a dozen friends who have tried. Every single one of them said it worked and was amazing. I will say it does make a difference with drooling. It seemed like Carter would be drooling like crazy and I'd put that on and it would just stop. As for the fussiness, I don't think it did a thing! Carter has been extra crazy lately. I don't know if it is from teething though or that he just really wants to explore everything and won't sleep. He is constantly trying to put things in his mouth and drooling so it seems like he is teething. Maybe it's just another stage mixed with teething.

Peonies: The hunt still continues. It is so frustrating! I was told that their season is just starting in the next couple weeks so hopefully there will be some around soon!

I can't wait for an amazing June :)

Gypsy

I always say that if I could have lived during any era I would chose the 70's! I love everything about it!!! The hair (I mean come on, Farrah Fawcett's hair!),the clothes, disco, of course the music. 

Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band, EVER! Gypsy is one of my favorite songs, hence my blog post. I really wanted to go see them in Toronto last year but it was 2 days away from my due date (which ended up being the day after Carter was born) and I definitely couldn't fly anywhere! Well, hopefully I'll have the chance again someday. 

I think I need to throw a 70's themed party! That would be so amazing! I don't even know if I could decide on an outfit, there's so many I would want to choose.These jeans would definitely be one of my main choices!

I'm obsessed with these J Brand flares! I seen a photo of them and ordered them but I ended up with the wrong color. I really want the light ones but I still love these so much! I find them so flattering on every body type! 

Looking back I really wish I would have done my hair more 70's for these pictures. Oh well, looks like I've got some ideas to work on...

Here comes the sun... and maxi dresses!

Are you as obsessed with maxi dresses as I am?! I swear I must have 50 of them! They're so perfect and so easy! Any time I'm in a rush and I want to look good I just do my hair, slap on a pair of sunglasses and jump into a maxi dress! This one is a little bit fall-ish with the darker colors but it's so bright and fun I just had to have it and wear it now! Oh, and the best part... it was CHEAP! I bought a ton of stuff from Ardene recently. Loooove their stuff. So cute and amazing prices!

It was the perfect dress for running errands yesterday. I was dying to go to Pete's Frootique (my favorite market!) for some baked goods and flowers. That place has THE best stuff! Their paninis, lasagna, grape leaves, cream horns....this is why diets don't last in my life lol!

I've been hunting for peonies but I can't find them anywhere! I know, I know, (eye roll) what blogger isn't obsessed with peonies?! But it really is such a gorgeous flower! Too bad I can't find the little bastards anywhere! I guess the hunt continues...

April Faves...and not so much

I've seen a lot of people doing April Faves at the beginning or middle of the month, which I don't really understand. I'm doing mine at the end so I make sure everything is included! I mean, what if something awesome happened at the end of April? You just pretend it happened in May?... Anyways, here we go!

Carter turning 6 months- I swear, it seemed like the day he turned 6 months he was trying new things! He was rolling over more, trying to sit up really hard in the bath and in the bed, and he just seemed more grown up! It was super cute!

Sunday brunch- Our new weekly thing! I've always loved doing brunch but we never really went out and did it. We had such a great time going the other day, I think we'll stick to it! Nothing like getting dressed up and enjoying a delicious meal, and of course a mimosa!

Fresh Soy cleanser- I got this stuff awhile ago as a sample. I had been out of a good face cleanser and I reverted back to my of Effaclar by La Roche-Posay and it was horrible! I would use it and shortly after my cheeks had red, rough patches which I thought were Rosacea. I used the Fresh sample I had and it cleared it all right up! It's so amazing and gentle. And it smells...well, FRESH :)!

Bliss Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter: Bliss body butter is one of my favorite body butters! It makes your skin feel so amazing and soft! This scent was so nice and fresh, very spring/summery!

Parenthood- I know I'm a bit late but I started watching Parenthood. Sadly, I already finished the whole series! Every single episode made me cry but nothing like the crying I did during the last episode. It's such a great show, I might actually watch it all over again right now!


And Not so much...

Carter's Monthly Dr's Appointment: I was hoping Carter would have gained some more weight by this appointment but unfortunately he hadn't and he is still pretty small for his age. Both his dad and I were pretty small when we were younger but the doctor said if he doesn't gain enough by his next appointment he's referring us to a pediatrician. The doctor says he's still healthy but he wants to make sure he isn't missing something. Hopefully he's put on some more weight. We'll see May 13th.

Perricone MD "The Science of Cold Plasma" - I had been debating on a good anti-aging kit forever and after I got a Sephora gift card for Christmas I finally decided to splurge. I ended up just getting a kit so I could try everything and not spend a crazy fortune. Let me just say, this stuff was friggin horrible! I'm so disappointed I wasted my money on it. I didn't notice one bit of difference with any of it. The products say they'll make your skin baby soft, more luminous, hydrated, firmer, and tighter. I guess I must be the 18% of people in their studies that didn't notice anything!

Teething: April definitely seemed to be the month of misery for little Carter. Poor guy was so upset and cranky 90% of the time he was awake. I bought one of those amber teething necklaces. It definitely didn't do anything for the fussiness (jesus, if it did, I sure as hell don't want to see what it would have been like without it!) but it definitely did help with the drooling! I swear, he would be drooling like crazy and I would put it on and sure enough the drooling would pretty much stop shortly after!

The weather: We seriously just had more snow and hail the other day! I can't even believe it! This has been such a depressing April! So blah! Who wants to go out in that?!

Well I'm hoping May brings much nicer weather, and a happier little baby :)!

A Night At The Museum

Ok, more like a rainy day at the museum! Today was pretty cold and rainy but we had a great time at the museum. When I heard there was going to be a dinosaur exhibit, I was so excited to go! Carter seemed to have a great time looking at everything too!

After the museum we went to visit my family for a little while before my grandparents go away to Ireland! Carter loves seeing everyone and gets so excited! Poor little guy has been having a rough few days from teething :(, it's so sad! It was nice to see him happy for the afternoon, hopefully this teething pain goes away really soon!

Now time to enjoy some sushi and movies!
