Apple Picking And Family Time

On Kyle's days off I love planning fun things to do together. This week we went apple picking! I remember apple picking on school trips and it was always so much fun. I'm so excited that I can now do it with my own little family :)!

Cottage Days

There is nothing like going and spending a beautiful day at my family's cottage. Some of my favorite memories are growing up down there on lake, jumping off the paddle boat with my friends, and even catching eels lol (I even tried bbq eel once, tastes like chicken lol)!

There really isn't anything more important to me than spending time with  my family. I spent so much time growing up with my whole family and being really close, I really want Carter to do the same.

We had such a fun day today playing in the water with Carter and just laying out in the sun chatting about our future family vacays we want to plan! We were sitting on the deck chatting and I looked above Kyle's head and seen the BIGGEST spider lol I screamed "Holy Shit!" so loud, everyone jumped! It was so gross and terrifying. What's even scarier is that thing galloped and hopped, and swims! I'm sure I'll be having nightmares about him tonight!

How gorgeous is my swimsuit cover up?! I can't believe I found it at Wal-Mart for $12! I threw some heels on for the pics to show how perfect it would be for a pool party. I don't usually run around the cottage in 5'' heels lol!

On the way home we stopped in Hubbard's at Sheila's Truck for scallops and fish and chips. Oh my, they were delicious like always!

Now everyone is exhausted and beat! Even the dogs! I can wait to lay down and pass out!

How friggin nasty is that thing?!

Boardwalks and Yachts

Today started off so cloudy and gloomy and I figured what a perfect day to finally get my nails done after the other nights mishap!

It ended up being so hot and beautiful out (of course while I was stuck inside lol!) we decided to take a family walk on the beautiful boardwalk and watch the boats.

We took Carter to the zoo yesterday and we let him decide which stuffed animal he wanted. We showed him four different ones and he just went nuts when he seen the wolf! He loves it so much, it's so damn cute!

This dress was so perfect for the boardwalk, it would be even more perfect on a yacht lol!

A Stroll Through The Gardens

The hunt is over! I finally found some peonies! They're so gorgeous, they just make our home feel so much more glam lol!

Today was a pretty awesome day! Carter had his pediatrician visit and she did say he is still pretty under weight and we need to fatten him up (not awesome news). But... he crawled for the first time today! I was in tears! It was so cute. He also had his first baby "mum mum". It was so funny to watch him sucking away on this weird little rice cookie/cracker and mushing it everywhere in his little fists and all over his high chair tray (which was also super disgusting to clean lol, like a wet soggy cheesy, yummm)!

(Lol I think he likes it!)

The doctor wants us to give him butter in his food which actually sounds pretty crazy to me and beef stew with gravy. Doesn't it seem super weird to be giving an 8 month old butter and gravy??? I need to do some research on this before giving it to him. I don't want to give him any salt yet!

After Carters appointment we went for a little stroll through the public gardens. I love this place so much, but really, who doesn't?! It's so beautiful. We didn't get a chance to see the swans or the ducks (my favorite part) so we'll have to go back soon when we have more time.

Apparently tomorrow is going to rain, fingers crossed we get some sun :)

Denim Days

Finally no rain when I woke up :)! It wasn't very warm so I figured it was a good day for this long-sleeved denim shirt (actually my old maternity shirt lol)!

Carter has been in a better mood and pretty happy the last few days so it was perfect for some family photos!

Sweater Weather

Today kind of ruined our plans for going to the gun range. It rained all morning and afternoon but ended up pretty nice in the evening. It was a little bit windy and chilly down by the water, definitely sweater weather.

Still searching for peonies. No one has any! I ended up buying some bright daisies for now. The pink ones are so pretty!

Carter is getting even more irritable lately. It seems like he just wants to crawl around and get into everything. Only problem...he can't crawl yet lol. He sees things he wants when I'm holding him and starts freaking out pushing away from me,so I'll put him down but he's not going anywhere lol. Poor guy! Changing his diaper has turned into a real nightmare! He will not sit still and just wiggles all over the place. He's just ready to explore this great big world!

We were going to go to Pitch Perfect 2 but we had so much to do around the house we didn't get a chance to go. Hopefully next week. I really want to see it. I hear it's hilarious. Not that I'm surprised. I watch the first one all the time!

Here's hoping tomorrow is warmer. And the hunt for peonies continues...

Gypsy

I always say that if I could have lived during any era I would chose the 70's! I love everything about it!!! The hair (I mean come on, Farrah Fawcett's hair!),the clothes, disco, of course the music.

Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band, EVER! Gypsy is one of my favorite songs, hence my blog post. I really wanted to go see them in Toronto last year but it was 2 days away from my due date (which ended up being the day after Carter was born) and I definitely couldn't fly anywhere! Well, hopefully I'll have the chance again someday.

I think I need to throw a 70's themed party! That would be so amazing! I don't even know if I could decide on an outfit, there's so many I would want to choose. These jeans would definitely be one of my main choices!

I'm obsessed with these J Brand flares! I seen a photo of them and ordered them but I ended up with the wrong color. I really want the light ones but I still love these so much! I find them so flattering on every body type!

Looking back I really wish I would have done my hair more 70's for these pictures. Oh well, looks like I've got some ideas to work on...
