Happy Mother's Day!

I can't believe today was my first mother's day! It was such an amazing day! I couldn't have had a more perfect day!

Kyle came home with the most thoughtful gift from our friends!  They gave me a beautiful card and a box full of the most amazing goodies! And Kyle gave me the prettiest pink roses!

We went out to brunch with my family to celebrate my mom, nan, and aunt. And I guess myself too!We went back to Tempo. The food was delicious! So were the drinks. Too bad Carter dumped the last half of my Peach Bellini on me lol! Oh well, it was a great brunch! Love that place and spending time with my family!

After brunch we went home and went for a walk for a couple hours around our neighborhood. We had to go back home halfway in between to change Carter's outfit. We're too new at this parenting thing... we still don't know how you're supposed to dress babies when it's warm out. It was so beautiful outside! There were so many other dogs and families out. Carter met the sweetest little girl 3 months older than he is. Maybe a future girlfriend lol?!

After our walk Kyle surprised me with lobster for dinner!!! Our fave! It was amazing! He even lit some candles, such a little romantic!

I'm so lucky and thankful to have such an amazing family and to be a mommy to such an incredible little boy :)!

Now everyone is sound asleep while daddy's at work and I'm waiting to watch the Kardashians lol, time for little miss Kylie Jenner to come clean about those lip injections! End of a perfect day!

April Faves...and not so much

I've seen a lot of people doing April Faves at the beginning or middle of the month, which I don't really understand. I'm doing mine at the end so I make sure everything is included! I mean, what if something awesome happened at the end of April? You just pretend it happened in May?... Anyways, here we go!

Carter turning 6 months- I swear, it seemed like the day he turned 6 months he was trying new things! He was rolling over more, trying to sit up really hard in the bath and in the bed, and he just seemed more grown up! It was super cute!

Sunday brunch- Our new weekly thing! I've always loved doing brunch but we never really went out and did it. We had such a great time going the other day, I think we'll stick to it! Nothing like getting dressed up and enjoying a delicious meal, and of course a mimosa!

Fresh Soy cleanser- I got this stuff awhile ago as a sample. I had been out of a good face cleanser and I reverted back to my of Effaclar by La Roche-Posay and it was horrible! I would use it and shortly after my cheeks had red, rough patches which I thought were Rosacea. I used the Fresh sample I had and it cleared it all right up! It's so amazing and gentle. And it smells...well, FRESH :)!

Bliss Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter: Bliss body butter is one of my favorite body butters! It makes your skin feel so amazing and soft! This scent was so nice and fresh, very spring/summery!

Parenthood- I know I'm a bit late but I started watching Parenthood. Sadly, I already finished the whole series! Every single episode made me cry but nothing like the crying I did during the last episode. It's such a great show, I might actually watch it all over again right now!


And Not so much...

Carter's Monthly Dr's Appointment: I was hoping Carter would have gained some more weight by this appointment but unfortunately he hadn't and he is still pretty small for his age. Both his dad and I were pretty small when we were younger but the doctor said if he doesn't gain enough by his next appointment he's referring us to a pediatrician. The doctor says he's still healthy but he wants to make sure he isn't missing something. Hopefully he's put on some more weight. We'll see May 13th.

Perricone MD "The Science of Cold Plasma" - I had been debating on a good anti-aging kit forever and after I got a Sephora gift card for Christmas I finally decided to splurge. I ended up just getting a kit so I could try everything and not spend a crazy fortune. Let me just say, this stuff was friggin horrible! I'm so disappointed I wasted my money on it. I didn't notice one bit of difference with any of it. The products say they'll make your skin baby soft, more luminous, hydrated, firmer, and tighter. I guess I must be the 18% of people in their studies that didn't notice anything!

Teething: April definitely seemed to be the month of misery for little Carter. Poor guy was so upset and cranky 90% of the time he was awake. I bought one of those amber teething necklaces. It definitely didn't do anything for the fussiness (jesus, if it did, I sure as hell don't want to see what it would have been like without it!) but it definitely did help with the drooling! I swear, he would be drooling like crazy and I would put it on and sure enough the drooling would pretty much stop shortly after!

The weather: We seriously just had more snow and hail the other day! I can't even believe it! This has been such a depressing April! So blah! Who wants to go out in that?!

Well I'm hoping May brings much nicer weather, and a happier little baby :)!

Sunday Brunch

I love brunch! Honestly, who doesn't enjoy an excuse to have a mimosa with breakfast?! I really wanted to get dolled up and go enjoy a nice brunch with our friends. Looks like it's going to be our new Sunday ritual!
I don't usually wear jumpsuits but I seen this one while literally running in to Marshalls to grab something, I just grabbed it off a rack. Didn't even try it on but I think it fits pretty good! I just love it! The fabric is so soft and comfortable. And the pattern is great!

We decided to try a restaurant called Tempo. We've never been there before but I heard the food was amazing, the pictures on their website are incredible!

Of course we were late. Carter's been so cranky lately and I can't put him down longer than 5 minutes before he loses it! It's impossible to get anything done. There really isn't anything I hate more than being late.I felt really bad that our friends were there waiting for us, but good thing they're understanding! And of course Carter loves seeing his auntie and uncle!

My mimosa was heavenly and the food was amazing! I had the croque madame and Kyle had fish tacos. I can't get over how delicious the fish tacos were!!!That was our first time trying them, definitely not the last! I already want to go back just for those tacos! The portions were pretty big too and the price wasn't bad for the quality and amount of food you get.

I was too busy not paying attention and didn't read that my side salad came with candied pecans (I'm allergic to nuts. Not deathly though, or I would be more careful). I took a bite before realizing what they were but it was a small bite so no reaction! I wish I could eat them because they were actually soooo delicious!

Carter was pretty good at brunch, he really only got a little grumpy towards the end but daddy fed him and he was happy again.

We ran some errands and got some bubble tea (our fave!), now it's time to play before bath and bedtime! Hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday!
